Yet for all their evolution, they form no bonds.
Love does not exist for them. They are incapable of dreaming,
Of contemplating beauty, Of knowing something greater than themselves.

It might be that the machine allows for time travel and Peter may be able to go save her in time.

Time travel ? ... Didn't Walter did that before with Bell ? ..... in "White Tulip" also , going back in time doesn't mean he can change the fact , no one can bring another one from death , only if the one didn't die at first place , coma maybe ..... catatonic state maybe .. but DEATH ........... and going back to save that ... it's like re-write what was written ! .... :x

VERY Spoiler Set Photos (I am assuming these are for one of the last 2 eps)

Second Set of Photos:

Actually, this is what I think:
I also have to say I wonder what is up with her hair? It's shorter and is it me or does she look a little older---perhaps this is a "future" that the characters will be trying to avoid??? It could be a 'BACK' to the future like sanario---and mirrors Peck's attempt at the "Arlette Principal" Don't let a past future universe repeat itself again. So IMO this is purple universe another version of Peter and Olivia and Walter....one that resembles the combination of red and blue persona's as this is probably before the creation of the blue universe...

Yes--that might be why the universe are the way they are--the blue could already be a first attempt to rewrite what was written...

It could be the machine is a time machine it could cause resets (mitosis of universe), convergences, and/or change time (as anyhthing different then before is "new"-changed-and altered). Peck maybe could not save Arlett, but that doesn't mean that he really couldn't -just possibly that he didn't have enough information or the right technology to over ride patterns and/or course correction. In August we see that variable exchanges can be made. -August could choose to save Holis by giving his own life.

But we will see.

Monreau Has Been Cast!

Image

A key role for Fringe‘s Season 3 finale has been cast — and as with everything on the Fox series, there’s a bit of a twist involved.

Brad Dourif, whom many of you remember as Deadwood‘s Doc Cochran, has been tapped to play a mysterious character named Moreau in the sure-to-be-intense Fringe finale airing Friday, May 6.

The wrinkle is that the original casting breakdown for this character specifically sought a “well-known Japanese actor … who speaks English” to fill the role.

Note: Monreau is most likely a nod to H.G. Wells character and title of the novel, "The Island of Dr. Moreau". The novel focuses on a man who ends up on an Island where Monreau has been experimenting by hybridisation of animals to try and attempt to make them more human. The themes of the novel are a look as what exactly makes one an animal and one a human...often times it is hard tell the two apart. This may play into the savage aspect of war in the FRINGE universes...and Mitosis -as Mitosis is the process of how animal (and of course human) cells procreate -plant cells go through photosynthesis.

It also seems they changed their mind about casting a Japanese actor, maybe to play more of a homage to Moreau of the novel?

The one with them together has fire flickering--it looks like fireflies...

There is also a pic with a petette girl facing Peter, wonder if this 'the 18 yr old Ella'??

I don't know...maybe one's an engagement ring and the other a wedding band?? I can't tell.

But I will bet that the inside of one will read "always". That would be a nice manifestation.

3x21 Official Press Release Added to the OP!

--- Merged Double Post --

Latest From EW (Minor Vague Finale Spoiler)
What can we expect from the Fringe finale? — Rob
If Fringe exec producers Jeff Pinkner and Joel H. Wyman’s teases turn out to be true, the three-episode arc (beginning April 22) that closes out this season will likely send theorists into a tailspin. “Pretty much every question anyone had this season will get answered,” Pinkner says. “If we do our jobs correctly, we’ll make people look at the entire season through a different perspective.”

Finale Spoiler From Ausiello
A Fringe character is headed to the alternate universe known as heaven in the May 6 finale.
“Somebody who we all love deeply will die,” revealed executive producer Jeff Pinkner in a conference call to reporters on Thursday. Elaborating on next month’s climax, Pinkner said, “Hopefully it will be wholly unexpected and it will recontextualize the story of Season 3 in a really cool way, and be fun and entertaining and mind-blowing.”

One thing the season-ender will not feature is the introduction of a long-rumored third universe. “We are not introducing a third world,” Pinkner maintained. “We still have plenty of story to tell just in those two worlds. Maybe at some pont in the future there will be a third word, but not yet.”

We already know that another version of Olivia gets shot. So I would assume this is meant to be about that, but I love how everyone who doesn't speculate that this is another version of Olivia (or really the Olivia's) is freaking out :)

Oh, and nice way to make a shout out to LOST by calling an alternate universe "Heaven". --of course it would be more interesting if this statement was more literal and there would be an FS where everyone goes again...

I'm reading this like it's a permanent death. Might just be the hope in me, though.

Could be...another possibility is that Peter dies, well at least his current body. Violet sedan Chair's track "Last Man in Space" and "Seven Suns (Setting)" hint at this, but IMO if that happens, I think he will consciencely travel to another time in another body (I am thinking Desmond-esque)....We now know for fact that DEATH isn't permanent in the FRINGE mythology, William Bell has returned, so anyone can in theory...
