Allan Ball talks to TV Guide whats next for the men of True Blood:

"There's some fun stuff with Sookie and her men coming down the pike," promises Ball. "The discovery that Sookie is still alive throws Alcide's world into turmoil." As for Eric and our favorite telepathic waitress, fans of Charlaine Harris' books won't be disappointed. "The spell has created an Eric that never would have existed before, and that is the person Sookie is falling for. They're both genuinely falling in love." And where does that leave Bill? "He doesn't like it one bit," says Ball. "But eventually the clash between the witches and vampires is going to bring everyone together." First, we brought the guys together for a chat.

I wonder how similar the final battle between the vamps and witches will be to the books? The story of the witches is already very different on the show than the book. In the book, there were 2 primary villain witches...a brother and sister. The sister was a shifter and a witch. Knowing that....I'd say that the rest of the witch story will be different as well.

I personnaly think he just want basic story lines from the books, like there are witches and they can control vampires but who are them ... the people exactly no, I think he is just creating his own characters and plots! I havent read all 8/9 books, not at all... but Claudine is a main character, she and her brother and Ive been reading in the blogs and sites people saying she is in the 9th book! I was just so shocked that she just died!

But we have Luna... maybe she is the other witch...
:hmm:

I guess I wasnt the only one surprised with Claudine death lol

'True Blood' author Charlaine Harris 'surprised by season four twist'
True Blood author Charlaine Harris has admitted that she was "surprised" by the death of Claudine in the latest episode.

Claudine (Lara Pulver) was killed in the instalment when Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) fed from her.

Harris has now told Entertainment Weekly that she did not expect the twist as Claudine dies much later in her novels.

However, she explained that she trusts True Blood's executive producer Alan Ball, saying: "If he can be gracious to me, I can certainly be gracious enough to wait and see where he's going."

Meanwhile, Ball explained that he wants to diverge from the books slightly to keep the audience guessing.

"If we did just do everything in the books, there would be no surprises," he said. "It's not like we have a formula for what we're going to keep from the books and what we're going to change. If there's a consensus that something makes sense, that's usually the way we go."

Harris recently confirmed that she is planning to end her Southern Vampire Mysteries book series after the 13th novel.

With Alcide still clearly having a thing for Sookie, I was wondering about something. Do you think that they will bring Quinn into the picture next season? Quinn..the were-tiger from the books? In the books, Sookie and Quinn become a pretty big thing....with the clutter of people vying for Sookie's attention already, will they bring in another love interest for Sookie next year? Or will one of the 3 be killed off to make room?

I would LOVEEEE that!!! another very tall and muscle man it would be nice :P JK :)

Im reading the 6th book and they are together... I can see that he really likes her and wants to protect her, also since he is a weretiger they could have a real family, with babies and grow old together!! So I like the possibility that, in the books, he could be the one for her!

back to the show, she already have too many men in her life and I dunno how general people, who watch the show and dont read the books, would react to that. The writers maybe will consider it to bring him or not to the mix....Well its a very hard question...... :hmm: my feelings are.... they seem to add more and more characters every season, so we would expect some new people coming next year, so why not bring someone who could already have a good storyline from the books connected to Sookie and the vamps??!! so my bet is: yes they will bring him :)

Comic-Con 2011: Highlights from the True Blood Panel

Image

Source: buddytv

Moderated by Tim Stack (of Entertainment Weekly), the cast of True Blood proved to be one of the biggest attractions at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con. With wait times to see the panel in Ballroom 20 exceeding even those of Hall H, the True Blood panelists addressed a packed house.

Before we even got a look at the many, many panelists, they had a trailer:

There does seem to be some Eric-Sookie sex.
Bill gets jealous.
Bad things happen to Tara.
Tara does bad things.
The new witch, Marnie, is kind of a badass.
Jessica does something dangerous.
Lots of sex and violence and stuff.
And then Sookie gets shot in a graveyard.

Enough of that, the many panelists:
Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam)
Alexander Skarsgard (Eric)
Kevin Alejandro (Jesus)
Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette)
Deborah Ann Wolk (Jessica)
Ryan Kwanten (Jason)
Rutina Wesley (Tara)
Stephen Moyer (Bill)
Anna Paquin (Sookie)
Alan Ball (the executive producer guy)

There were lots of questions.

Why Bon Temps?
Alan Ball: "If you could live in Bon Temps, wouldn't you?"

Are there two Sookie Stackhouses?
Anna Paquin: "There's the part of her that has really, dirty vampire sex on a regular basis."
Is shirtlessness an acting choice or a curse?

Eric's new clothes are theorized to originally belong to Hoyt. Alan Ball clarifies that the spell includes shirt-loss followed by the discovery of dorky clothes that still make Eric look hot.

Will there be more fall-out from Bill's inappropriate sex?
Stephen Moyer: "If Bill had done a bit of research... he might have worked out who she was."

Is Lafayette interested in magic or just in love?
Pretty much, he's in love.

Is Jesus a secret bad guy?
Kevin Alejandro: "I think there's a little darkness in everybody. You just need to watch and find out, bro."

How about the new, kick-ass Tara?
Rutina Wesley: "I secretly love the UFC, so I was so glad when I got the script... I think it's kind of awesome that she's happy and that she's happy for a change."

How long was Jason strapped to the bed and raped?
Ryan Kwanten: "It continued for about four [episodes]... He was enjoying the fact that he's now being called Ghost Daddy."

What's up with Jessica giving Jason her blood?
Deborah Ann Woll: "I'm more interested in what happens when the V wears off."

After an expression of affection from the audience, Deborah Ann Woll responded: "Oh, you're too young to watch our show!"

On Pam's "face-off" with Marnie:
Kristin Bauer: "We worked really hard to make you squeamish."

Will Eric remember being with Sookie if he gets his memory back?
Alan Ball: "I feel like that's too much to give away... No. Yes. Maybe."

Is there hope for Bill and Sookie?
A chorus of yeses and nos keep the panelists quiet.

Anna Paquin: "I think it's going to be a long road back."
Stephen Moyer: "There's obviously so many telepathic waitresses down south..."

What about Arlene's possibly-evil baby and the creepy doll?
Alan Ball: "We will find out what it is about that doll that's so creepy."

Alan Ball: "That cute little baby? You think he's evil?"

Will we see the shower scene with Sookie and Eric?
Alan Ball: "There will be a moment in the show where Sookie and Eric will be together in the shower. It may not be exactly what happens in the books. It may be weirder and dirtier."

What are the favorite parts of the season?
Alan Ball: "I personally enjoyed the ritualistic gang rape of Jason Stackhouse."
Ryan Kwanten: "There was actually a sense of enjoyment in that for me as well."
Rutina Wesley: "Cage-fighting."
Alexander Skarsgard: "I really enjoyed the swimming in the Sun."

What was the lake scene with Alcide and Eric like?
Anna Paquin pointed out the one-foot height difference between herself and Joe Mangianello. She said it was awkward. Also, she was scared of the wolf she had to act with right beforehand.

How do the True Blood comics enhance the show?
Alan Ball: "It's just more story in a different format."

What are the odds of a Pam-Tara romance?
Alan Ball: "I'm going to write that down and send myself an e-mail."

Will we see how Eric made Pam?
Alan Ball: "Unfortunately we won't see it this season, but you will definitely see it in season 5."

How would a re-memoryed Eric be dealt with in the vampire community?
Alan Ball: "The vampires are all going to stand together, because they're fighting a common enemy. And that enemy is Michelle Bachmann."

In answer to a completely different question about Sookie and Claudine:
Alan Ball: "Fairies are born in litters, and they're identical."

New supernatural creatures?
Spirits without bodies. Brujo-based demon creatures. More for season 5.

Will there be any more long-term waitresses at Merlotte's?
Alan Ball: "I do think working as a waitress at Merlotte's is the most dangerous job in the world."

Season 4 Spoilers from Alan Ball

As True Blood starts charging towards the Season 4 finale, executive producer Alan Ball was on hand at HBO’s summer TV session to dish out a few spoilers — and when we say few, we mean very few. Here is the transcript of our rapid-fire lightning round with the very cagey Ball:

What will we see in the war between witches and vampires?
Ball: It will go places that surprise you. It’s not linear.

What can you say of the Bill-Sookie-Eric triangle?
Ball: It’s complicated.

Will Sookie (Anna Paquin) be able to forgive Bill (Stephen Moyer)?
Ball:
I believe forgiveness is possible for everybody for everything, but I’m a Buddist, so…

Were you careful with the relationship between Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Sookie because of Team Bill?
Ball:
I don’t worry about Team Bill or Team Eric. I love [the fourth book] because I thought it was a great story, but I’m Team Sookie.

Because Jason (Ryan Kwanten) drank Jessica’s (Deborah Ann Woll) blood, will his sex dreams continue?
Ball:
He’s had her blood and he’s already a very sexual person, but he’s going to be attracted to her.

What is the season building up to?
Ball:
The fate of vampires as a whole.

What’s the big, bad villain for next season?
Ball:
We are just in the beginning of Season 5, so it’s too early to say, but we’re basing it on the books.

Do you feel pressure to top each villain?
Ball:
I don’t think that way because that’s only a recipe for trouble. I love my job, I enjoy doing it. I’m not going to put pressure on myself to top. I just want to tell the best story and the most fun story.

SPOILERS: More Lovin’ On The Way!

True Blood, please! I was obsessed with the Eric and Sookie moments last week! Is there more where that came from? — Liz
There always is. But as great as the next episode is (and it’s very great!), I find myself more excited about another pair, who you might have seen a bit of a spark with last week. This one much more unlikely, but I really like it. Watch it Sunday and tell me if you agree or if I’m all alone on this one.

Interesting...I believe the primary villain in book five is Hot Rain....Longshadow's maker (the vamp that Bill killed to save Sookie at Fangtasia in season one.) The main story is that someone is shooting shifters.
