The "Answer a Difficult Question Truthfully" Thread

Postby Fivebretz on Fri Sep 18, 2009 5:40 am

I'm starting this thread to contain the sort of "ask the user below" questions that never really fit into the "Would You Rather" or "Moral Dilemna" threads.

Answer the previous "difficult question" as truthfully as you can and post one of your own :)

If an eccentric millionaire offered you a million pounds/dollars to just up and leave your home, leaving everything you know behind, with no way of ever contacting your past again, would you take it? If no, is there a price you would accept?

I'd go. I'm fed up here anyway.

If you had to never see one of your parents again, who would it be?

My father. Easily.
[drunken rant]
The bastard hasn't been part of my life since I was a small child. He hasn't even sent me a letter or called me. Screw him. I don't care if I ever see him again. If I did, I would most likely punch him in the face. He's done the same thing to 3 other families. You know that line from Fight Club?
"**** settin up franchises." That applies to my "father" perfectly. I'd better stop before I start getting really personal.
[/drunken rant]

Same question.

I couldn't, I have grown to like them both more as an adult then I ever did before.

My dad, but pretty much on the flip of a coin.

Ok more eccentric millionaires:

An eccentric millionaire offers you one million pounds to press a button. He tells you that every time you press it, one person on the planet, completely at random, would die. To press or not to press?
What if it was ten people?
What if it was a hundred? etc etc

Heeeeeeell no! What if this "random" person was someone I knew... There is no amount of money that would make me do that! Or be so selfless!

Same question.

One person out of six and a half billion and rising?

Think about how your life would turn around with a MILLION pounds...?

(I'm not really heartless btw, just trying to provoke discussion ;) )

But you have to live with yourself every day for the rest of your life and everything you bought with the money would smell of death.

I couldnt do it, no way, money is only an object, life is life

On a similar note to the last one:
There are three buttons in front of you. You are told that two of the buttons, when pushed, will dispense £4,000,000 each. However if you are unlucky enough to push the other one, it will cause a machine to rip off your four limbs from your torso. Would you take a chance and push one of those buttons? And if you were successful, would you attempt to push another?

And yes, I have written script for the saw films ;)

No. I would hate to be dragged around in a bucket
