Ask a question of an STVer

Postby Jeepy on Thu Jul 29, 2010 11:25 pm

So in this thread you can ask the poster directly above you one question about anything you like. Usual forum rules obv apply. Don't post if you're scared of what you might get asked!

Edit: Fivebretz very joyfully pointed out that asking the person directly above might not work, so just ask anyone I guess. :( Threadstartfail

I have a question for charliefan4life

As the unofficial queen of the forum, how do you feel about your position?

Fivebretz's way is more... not going to work - there is a good chance the person you ask the question to won't see it?
This whole thread won't work.

Whoa, unexpected question. Well, I personally don't celebrate  , but millions of Mexicans do. So I'll explain it a little as I do know a lot about it... The Day of the Dead is perhaps one of the most traditional celebration in Mexico. People celebrate and remember their dead loved ones that day of the year. On November 2nd, they go to the cemeteries and build altars, bring gifts for their departed ones, their favorite foods, drinks, pictures, toys, flowers, candles, bread and ALL kind of colorful stuff or objects that the dead ones liked. They sing and "talk" to them and its a party atmosphere. Death is even taken somehow humorously around that time and many people write poems about the living ones related to death (called "skulls"). Cemeteries get awfully crowded that day, full of colorful flowers, candied sugar skulls, lots of people and paper mache. I believe seeing death in a different way overall is part of the Mexican identity and folklore. Anyway, I once went to a cemetery that day and it was a different, but nice and fun experience.

Thank you Conor. I'd say that first of all the "un" in the word official is unnecessary. Secondly I'd like to think my royal staff i.e. the rest of STV for making this all possible. I'd also like to know where my diamond-encrusted crown, robe, and royal sceptor are. I assume the official "Charliefan4life Day is also in the works? And wedding, what's this wedding? I approved no such union. I expect 40 gold rupees and a mule first. Now, I'll be over on my thrown made of rubies awaiting the daily foot kissing.

(Ha ha ha) but seriously

My question is for freddy-Are you independently wealthy?

We discuss our marriage every single day. Live streaming might not be the right way to celebrate our union, but you're all invited ;) :P

Thanks for the answer manuelsub, I've always wondered about that and it sounds like a great tradition.

Two Sides, I obviously want more information about this. Where does she live, how did you hook up for a start?

Fingersplints, what do you do for a job?

Fivebretz What's your favourite variety of haribo?
