Thanks, Dgwenda ! Well, for people who didn't get a song assigned, coming up with "filler" songs that don't necessarily follow a specific episode range... that's cool, too !

Hmm... okay, well, let's do this. Why don't we just say the Song #5 range has two songs. Magic Box and LostFaith, you may want to message each other, to make sure you're not covering the same scene/theme, etc. Sound cool ?

Cool. Fine with me, Bookhouseboy. I'll be in touch with LostFaith and we'll find our parallel ways to musical heaven.

Just to let you know, I am still working on my two songs (Season 1 opener and the Season 2 finale).

I'm what you would call a perfectionist. That and my background in theatre is driving me to come up with lots of stage directions. :D

Hopefully I'll have one of them done in another week. By my standards, they're epic. ;)

Here's my second song, and it features someone who I think might not get his song anywhere else... Sayid !

Song #2: Pilot Part 2: "French Woman's Radio"
Sung by Sayid to the tune of "Mexican Radio" by Wall of Voodoo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdpllAHo0ng

A dead polar bear on far stage left, Sawyer, Kate, Sayid, Charlie, Boone and Shannon are trekking through the jungle when Sayid checks the radio, and begins singing, with the others singing along in parts:

I felt a hot wind out of nowhere,
Then Sawyer shot a ram-pag-ing polar bear,
I turn the switch and check the connection
To see if I can find a transmission
I hear a strange voice talking slowly
It sounds like a woman speaking to me
I hear her voice from far away
Can't understand just what does she say?

We're listening to the French woman's... radio ! It's the French woman's, whoa-ohh - radio !

Her voice is coming from an unknown station
It's French, we're going to need a translation
Shannon understands just a little
(Shannon): Qu'est-ce que c'est, it's a riddle.

Listening to the French Woman's... radio. It's the French woman's, whoa-ohh, radio !
Listening to the French Woman's... radio. It's the French woman's, whoa-ohh, radio !
Listening to the French Woman's... radio. It's the French woman's, whoa-ohh, radio !

I wish I was back home in Tikrit
Eating baklava, mmm, it's so sweet
I had a girl who was my heart's dream
Her full name was Noor Abed Jazeem.
But to me, she was always Nadia.
(Sawyer): Get to the punchline, Al-Jazeera !
Back in the war, I was forced to torture
And my boss wanted me to execute her
But I loved Nadia, I couldn't do it
I shot that bastard, myself, and told her to shoo it
Now, I'm here, and there's a voice from so far away,
Can't understand just what does she say?

Listening to the French Woman's... radio. It's the French woman's, whoa-ohh, radio !
Listening to the French Woman's... radio. It's the French woman's, whoa-ohh, radio !

Radio radio... Radio radio... Radio radio...
Listening to the French Woman's... radio. It's the French woman's, whoa-ohh, radio !
Listening to the French Woman's... radio. It's the French woman's, whoa-ohh, radio !
Radio radio... What does she say ?

That's perfectly envisoned. Love it

darkknight wrote:Song Title: Eulogy/Time (Through The Looking Glass)
(The Beatles’ The Long and Winding Road and Yesterday)

CHARLIE steps forth with a guitar and begins to sing.
The long and winding road
That leads to this door
Would never disappear
You've seen that much before.
Fate always leads me here,
Leads me to this door.

The wild and rushing flood
That the sea washed away,
Has ended all our tears
Crying for the day.
Please leave me standing here,
Let me save the day.

Many times I've been alone and many times I've cried
But Claire and Aaron found the way, to save me from the tide

But I left them behind
To give in to my fate
Make sure they get back home
and live a brighter life
I’ll turn off the blinking light
take them from their strife.

(At this point, water floods two giant video screens on the back wall.)

It’s too late to let go
of the long and winding road
Before you leave me to die here
Know that It’s not Penny’s boat.
Don't keep me waiting here
send my love home.

As CHARLIE slowly walks back into the shadows, a low bass note plays.
A spotlight slowly rises on JACK, in a suit and with a disheveled beard.

JACK:
Yesterday,
All our troubles seemed so far away,
Now it looks as though they're here to stay,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly,
I'm not half the man I used to be,
My father’s shadow hanging over me,
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.
Why we
Had to go I don't know, no other way.
Now there’s
Something wrong, and I long for yesterday.

Yesterday,
Love was such an easy game to play,
Now Kate’s leaving me in disarray ,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Why we
Had to go, as we flew, it faded away.
He said,
we were wrong, now we’re gone from yesterday .

Yesterday,
all our friends have gone astray
Now please don’t go, don’t drive away,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Says “We have to go back, Kate, We have to go back!!”
Jack looks up as the sound of a plane taking off goes by. As his spotlight fades out, a scrim comes down, and the Lost end credit logo is projected, along with that awesome “thud” noise that ends every episode. Hopefully this sets up the flashforward cliffhanger for next season!!

I went the route of the straightforward, more emotional songs. I think the first one is definitely better, as the lyrics and tune of the song seem really close to the song that plays when Charlie dies. He was one of my favorite characters in the first 3 seasons (besides Locke and Des). Comments greatly appreciated!!

The Constant
[Stage is black… DESMOND enters wandering around in the dark, looking for something. Slowly a spotlight rises on him and he starts to sing (to the tune of “Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper”)

DESMOND:
Wanderin’ round this island my thoughts all drift to you
Caught up in waves of confusion, this is nothing new
Flashback… the army… I left you behind
I must find Daniel… I’m lost in….

All this time skipping, it’s making me a little sick
Don’t know if is two thousand four or nineteen ninety six
Must find Daniel, to Oxford I go
Where’s Penny? I don’t know?

[Daniel appears stage right, a faint spotlight shines on him in time for the chorus]
[Penny appears stage left, a faint spotlight shines on her as well]

DANIEL:
If you’re lost you can look and you will find me.. way back in time
If you slip I will fix you and send you back… back to your time

PENNY:
You are lost, and you left me, but I’m still here.. way back in time
If you want you can find me… I will be waiting.. way back in time

[Fade to black as instrumental continues]
[Lights fade up, DESMOND and PENNY are center stage.. at her apartment]

DESMOND:
Penny, I’m sorry but there’s something that you must do
PENNY:
Desmond please leave me, I’m trying to forget you
DESMOND:
8 years, from now, I’ll call you Pen. Don’t give up on me just yet
(Chorus)
I am lost, but I love you and I’ll prove it… somewhere in time
Just give me your number, and I’ll call it… somewhere in time

PENNY:
I will trust you, I promise I will answer… just one more time
Now please leave me, you must go, but I’ll be there… this one more time

[Fade to black during instrumental]
[Fade in, DESMOND and PENNY are on opposite ends of the stage, each standing next a phone. DESMOND picks up his phone, and her phone rings… after a long pause, she answers]

DESMOND:
Penny, is that you?
PENNY:
Yes, Des its me.
DESMOND:
I love you dear Penny
(Chorus)
I was lost but you found me and now I’m here… back in our time
PENNY:
Oh dear Desmond I love you and I’ll find you.. find you this time
DES&PENNY:
I won’t give up, I promise, I will love you… for all time
PENNY:
I am coming to find you
DES:
I will be waiting!
PENNY:
Find you this time
PEN&DES:
Love for all time
Love for all time
Love for all time

[Both hang up their phones, and sigh longingly]
[Fade to black]

Very nicely done. way to go.

all of these ideas are great. after the songs are complete any plans on filming the scenes with singers and music?

Just checking in -- I haven't forgotten. . .just working on my songs. Torn between serious and silly, as my inclination is serious (I get episodes with Eko and he was one serious dude), but the Jimmy Kimmel impetus was quite silly. Is there a deadline for song submissions?

Well, I gave Sayid a somewhat silly song, so that's totally up to you.

The only deadline is set by when most of the songs are done, really. I don't think we're even at the half way mark yet, so you probably have a couple of weeks at least.

BookhouseBoy, is the project still on? I just can't leave "woreest idea ever" as the last comment in this thread. Let's get this musical together!

It's definitely still ON, people just haven't been posting their songs !

To get people in gear, how about this... any song slot that doesn't get posted by May 1st, will then become fair game for anyone who wants to do it. So... get going, people ! :)
