I have to admit that I didn't really enjoy the main plot this week, the whole Birthday storyline was dull, thou it was good to see W. Earl Brown (Deadwood's Dan Dority) :D

The sub plot started off slow too, but once it became apparent that it was all down to Dr Jekyll the pace picked up for me, it seems like he may become Ray's 'Miniature Serial Killer'. I'm glad they are teasing this out, the closing moments of the episode were fantastic

I was a bit let down with the birthday plot. It seemed like a fun thing but it was a bit dull.

Ray finding the name missing in the appendices of the businessman's book, and then Al finding it inside the guys appendix; 'Michaelangelo' was on the scrap of paper. It isn't quite the same as the straight swap of the bowties in the previous episode, so I'm not sure what it means :S

The famous Michelangelo was an artist but he was also very interested in the human anatomy(thats why his art was so good). So maybe this is the killers way of saying that what he is doing is art.

Yeah it was the Michelangelo that was being referenced, but the MO doesn't completely add up to the previous victim. He took the last guys bow-tie after tying his intestines into a bow, this time he adds an appendix and leaves the clue (from the books appendices) inside it...so what did he take?

He didn't take anything I guess, unless his intention was to 'take' from the appendix in the book, and give him an extra appendix..?

Maybe the assumption that he 'took' the bowtie is wrong, maybe they just haven't found it yet? Just thinking out loud here :P

That's what I'm wondering Maq. I'm sure they will probably not even mention Dr. Jekyll for a few weeks now so we'll have to wait to find out :P

I had a totally random thought earlier, what if Ray is Dr. Jekyll? His schizofrenic side or so, that he can't control. So he's actually investigating his own murders. That'd be plain awesome :P

Well, the killer has a shoe size 13 and Ray has a size 13,5. Although I do think they want us to think he might be the killer.

I instinctively considered Ray as Dr. Jekyll, it'd make an awesome parallel for him to be Dr. Jekyll, while Langston himself is the upstanding Mr. Hyde. It'd be really cool - but I think that CBS would be more interested in keeping Fishburne for a while - not just one season to have him become the serial killer. then again, maybe they just wanted him for one season to see how the show would do without Peterson?

These days, it's a total mystery what major networks are doing anymore.

My theory (and sorry this is so late - I just watched it just now) what if Dr. Hyde left his own appendix in the victim? He gave took a non-lethal bowtie and gave a lethal bowtie in return: he gave a non-lethal AND a lethal appendix? (Yeah, doesn't really make sense to me, either, but ... what if, right?)

an appendix in an appendix, is that what you call an Appendicitement?
