Also, why do you think certain characters should not?

-- Merged Double Post --

i think andy would work well. i mean, he kinda lacks common sense as well. i can see jim playing pranks on him and things kind of carrying on as usual. although, thinking about it now, maybe change is better.....or maybe not, i really started to get so mad at the show when charles was there. i just think it can't be jim and dwight because they have such prime roles and moving them would be like loosing two characters.

I voted Dwight
I would love to see Ricky Gervais make the transition to the US version however i think there would be a clash of comedy somehow  It would turn out quite... bad  Gervais was perfect for the UK version. Carrel was perfect for the US.
However, i would say Dwight, the 2nd funniest person is in line to becoming the replacement for Michel Scott. He is just awesome.

i thought i'd want ricky too...then i went right where you went...different types of humor might clash.

dwight does crack me up. i wonder if they are going to do a competition of who gets it, like walking on hot coals and stuff again. lol!

Great topic laezydaezy and congratulations on being a fellow Show Expert for The Office. I voted a different character- a fresh face. I am still in shock that he is leaving
Spoiler (Click to reveal/hide)
however he wins the Emmy then he will stay on the show.
.

when i read that a while back i was so mad at out jim was compared to michael. i mean, he was making the same mistakes but one thing will always be different.....jim has is smart and has common sense. i def think they will use jim to replace him, but i still don't think it should be. i need jim's wittyness and camera smirks to guide me through the show. i'll be sad. :(

As one of the forum's Scranton reps, it's only appropriate I chime in. I love my office fix and I'm not optimistic about the show post Steve...Jim perhaps makes the most sense storyline wise, but seeing as it's a new company owning them, it's really anyone's game. That's the beauty of them being owned by someone else.

A look at Dwight's sales numbers could easily land him the job...which would have been nearly impossible knowing the higher-ups opinion of Dwight based on previous reports they've seen and the personal opinion of one higher-up who spent sometime in the office (then again, he wasn't a Jim fan either).

In a way I think Darryl would be a good fit. Last season we got to see what it'd be like if Darryl had an office job and I think it worked out well (especially his scenes with Andy). Plus, I just think Craig Robinson is hilarious. Dwight would be good too but I just like him at the number 2 position (or No. 3), fighting for more control. Andy would be funny as hell too, but I don't see how they could make that work after his whistleblowing incident.
