Neil Gaiman tweeted that the first read through of his script is due in 10 days, I'm so excited :w00t: He's included a short piece that was cut at the end that makes me giggle

According to the CV of new Doctor Who production designer Michael Pickwoad, Adam Smith and Richard Clark will be returning to the director’s chair for Series 6 of Doctor Who, set to begin filming shortly.

Adam Smith, in our minds, was the directorial star of Matt Smith’s first series as The Doctor, successfully bringing The Eleventh Hour, The Time of Angels, and Flesh and Stone to the screen with great flair and panache. It would appear that Smith will be in charge of one of the first two blocks of filming, which apparently includes shooting on Neil Gaiman’s episode.

Richard Clark returns to Doctor Who for the first time since helming two Series 3 episodes, Gridlock and The Lazarus Experiment.

Both directors join a top notch team which includes Toby Haynes, who is in charge of the upcoming 2010 Christmas Special and who previously directed The Pandorica Opens and The Big Bang from Series 5.

Small casting spoiler for S6.

According to her online CV, Sophie Cosson will be appearing in an episode of Doctor Who for Series 6, though as yet we have no idea which one or what it will be called. How helpful is that, eh?

Up to now, Sophies work has been mainly stage and radio, and she has appeared in The Archers, Much Ado about Nothing and Tie A Yellow Ribbon. She will be appearing in a Richard Clark directed episode as a character names Julie.

It's looking like the rumour about a schedule change is right after all.

The head of BBC One has confirmed that the channel is considering changes to the scheduling of Doctor Who.

The sci-fi show, which stars Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, traditionally returns for a new run of 13 episodes at Easter. A sixth series has been commissioned for 2011, although rumours have suggested that it could be kept back to the Autumn.

Responding to the speculation, Jay Hunt told Digital Spy: "We're talking about what form Doctor Who will take. I think the interesting thing with having Steven [Moffat] running that show now is it will be very much a creative decision. He will decide what he thinks is right for the show."

Holding the show back will mean no new Who for 12 months

Maybe they are moving the schedule, so it will pair with Torchwood?

Yeah, some are saying that could be the reason, or it could be a way of getting back to autumn/winter schedule like Classic Who.

Personally I think that one of the best outcomes atm is that the Gaiman script being read through on Tuesday is an Easter special. Every draft of it up to now has been well over budget and it's been long hyped as an amazing episode.

My Doctor Who episode is Bigger in every way, inside and outside: I’ve asked them for the impossible, and they’ve knocked themselves out to give it to me, and when they can’t they’ve managed to somehow give me the very improbable

Steven Moffat has given a strong hint that The Daleks will not be appearing in the next series of Doctor Who.

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, the Who showrunner admitted that there are currently no plans for the famous aliens to reappear, although work on the 2011 series is not yet complete.

He said: "There will be a Dalek story when we've got a good idea for a Dalek story. [When that happens], there will be lots of different kinds of Daleks."
