[Official] Alcatraz S1 - Spoilers and Speculation

[Two Sides]

There has been a few Pilot shows arising recently, a lot of them sound pretty awesome. This one included. I'm not sure what to make of Jorge Garcia's role though... It's just not something I could see him doing too well. Let's hope I'm proven wrong! But yeah, can't wait for this one! Is it true it's going to air in 2013?

I dunno. I think his role will be similar, except he may have a lot of knowlege (it would be like if we would see Hugo 5 to 10 years after he has been "Jacob-esque" and learned a bunch of stuff about the history of the Island.) Abrams a lot of times has these great side-kicky characters (Javier, Marshal, Astrid, Hoyt) and I think this could be one of his bests, because Garcia has this way of not only being a comic relief, but he also has tremendus heart and soul.

I am looking forward to seeing him.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but the way he just put his faith in Jacob and tries to figure things out in season six really let me see that not only the character, but Garcia, has the ability to lead, even if he isn't dead serious like Jack, he still conveys this sense of deeply caring for other people, and that is a serious thing to convey on screen even if that comes with some comedy.

Heck, every time I see that scene in Lost, "Numbers", when he hugs Rousseau, I always get so teared up.

FRINGE Creators Discuss Long Term Plans, which indicates, if Fox doesn't have enough room, because FRINGE is picked up for season 4, they will choose to go with FRINGE over Alcatraz.

I don't know how I feel about this. I want FRINGE to at least have one more season, if not more, but I was also really looking forward to Alcatraz...I am hopeful that there will be room for both shows...They may have 4 strong sci-fi like shows coming next season...they could just put them all on one night!

Alcatraz Films In San Fransisco Starting Tomorrow!

SAN FRANCISCO—Elizabeth Sarnoff and J.J. Abrams new series Alcatraz begins filming in the city on Monday in the Chinatown and Russian Hill neighborhoods.

Filbert Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to record a shootout involving actor Jeffrey Pierce (Jack Sylvane) and police officers.

Additional scenes will be shot on Alcatraz Island over the next few days.

The series boasts an all-star cast including Sam Neill, Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia, Robert Forster, and Ian Tracey.
Filming in Vancouver wrapped up on Feb. 4.
The pilot debuts on FOX this fall.

Casting Updates: Greyston Holt to play a younger Emerson Hauser (Sam Neill) and Paul McGillion has speaking role!

The all-star cast of J.J. Abrams upcoming sci-fi drama has gotten bigger.
Greyston Holt will reportedly portray a younger version of Sam Neill’s character Emerson Hauser—a government agency director.

Holt starred in the 2008 sports film Slap Shot 3: The Junior League and played Ray Prager Jr. on the Canadian series Durham County.

Scottish actor Paul McGillion, best known as Dr. Carson Beckett on Stargate: Atlantis, also has a speaking role in the Alcatraz pilot.

Extras were cast as tourists, cops, prisoners, and park rangers.
Filming is underway in San Francisco and on Alcatraz.
Alcatraz debuts this fall on FOX.
