woah is about right...

stunning run of episodes ending season two...

such a damn damn shame it was cancelled, because i reckon the mythology set up within the carnivale universe would have trumped losts...

its a pity that we arent even going to get a graphic novel or even a book to finish it...
You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don't
owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to
put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission,
don't even start asking for theirs.

There's nothing exactly like it, but if you like Lord of the Rings-type stuff, "Game of Thorns" is starting in April on HBO. Have no idea how good it will be, but it looks mythologically heavy.

It's hard to find things with such mystical elements, but are also 'period'. Battlestar Galactica has pretty big tints of it, but it is very military and sci-fi looking.

Yet for all their evolution, they form no bonds.
Love does not exist for them. They are incapable of dreaming,
Of contemplating beauty, Of knowing something greater than themselves.

aye, id seem the adverts for game of thrones...looks pretty good...as for BSG...already devoured that show a fair few times darth...

looks like that if i want a show with a coherant mythology, amazing set design & character arcs, then i'll have to write it myself !!!

so...A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....thats a pretty good start dont you think?

what do you mean, "it's been done"??

Would anyone recommend Supernatural? I see a good deal of comments/traffic at STV over that show, but I've never checked it out cause, for some reason, I always thought it was geared towards a younger crowd. Am I wrong about that?

I started watching in January thinking the same thing! Its now one of my top 5 shows :P it is by no means as... smart? Intellectual? as carnivale or lost etc, and definitely doesn't compete with either on a mythology level, but it is really good :D and sometimes very funny.

So I just finished S1 of Supernatural the other day (and the first 3 epi of S2), Two Sides, and you were pretty spot on about the show. Definitely isn't as smart or in depth mythologically as I'd like it to be, but it's still an enjoyable show. And you were right about it being funny at times. :D Anything that makes me laugh usually involves Dean.

While there are some great ones, I usually can do without the stand alone episodes, but I really enjoy the ones that focus on the demon, their father, Sam's abilities or any other mythology (big surprise there, right? :D ).

Season 1 of SPN is no where as good as the others, imo.
3, 4 and 5 are awesome!

I'm glad you like, Finl. S2 really needed to mythology. It's been a while since I have not seen an episode. I could make a rewatch.
